The War on Drugs is a failure because it is the perfect example of big government gone wild. Similar to Communism in the twentieth century and what is big government. Government that is so big that it tries to run people’s lives for them and tries to protect people from. Themselves because it doesn’t trust the people to be able to make their own decisions with their own lives. But also if people have freedom, they’ll be able to use that and perhaps decide they want other people leading the country. Which is why dictatorships tend to fail because people get hungry for freedom and the ability to govern themselves. And make their own decisions and they take it out on the authoritarians in charge. The drug warriors are so afraid of what people may do if narcotics weren’t illegal that if we didn’t have illegal narcotics. That they are willing to punish people for what they do to themselves and send them away to places that are. Worse than illegal narcotics for their own good. Just another example of why the War on Drugs is a failure because of the hypocrisy and contradictions in it.
